Smart-Holding to Participate in the World Economic Forum as Industrial Partner


A team of Smart-Holding represented by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board Vadim Novinsky and the CEO Alexey Pertin will participate in the 41st annual meeting of the WEF members that will be held in Davos (Switzerland) from 26 to 30 January 2011.

The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization that brings together leaders in the sphere of politics, business, science and other fields in order to shape the global agenda and agendas for the regions and branches of the economy. This year's topic of the WEF meeting is outlined as ‘Shared Norms for the New Reality’.

This year, 35 heads of states and governments are expected to attend the event. In particular, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the President of Mexico Felipe Calderon, British Prime Minister David Cameron. The discussions of the Forum will be attended by the heads of national banks, 50 heads of leading international organizations, more than 500 representatives of civil society, leaders of 50 non-governmental organizations. Over 5 days, more than 2,500 Forum participants from 90 countries will discuss current risks and challenges faced by the globalized world, and will attempt to find ways to overcome them.

In particular, in the report ‘Global Risks - 2011’ experts from the World Economic Forum identified economic disparity and global governance failures as those defining the evolution of many other global risks. Among the key risk groups, which will be the main generators of challanges in the next decade, the following were named: macroeconomic risks, illegal economy, resource constraints (water, food, energy). One of the main goals of the World Economic Forum this year is to develop and establish an effective system to confront global risks.
