20.12.2012

Kiev, 20 December – Amstor national retail chain expanded its geographical presence having opened its first store of the ‘Supermarket of Taste’ format in the capital of Ukraine.

The store is located in ‘Poliarniy’ trade centre, 2 Mayorova Street. Its total area is 4.21 thousand square metres, and its shopping space is 2.723 thousand square metres.

The first store of the chain in the capital city will operate in the new format, the Supermarket of Taste. This concept implies the focus on the fresh goods category. Its share will account for over 60% of the shopping area and will amount to about 20,000 product line items. One more innovative solution implemented in planning of the store’s design is the central shopping area shaped like a marketplace and occupying about 40% of the store’s floor.

The supermarket will offer a wide range of in-house manufacture products, as well as the goods produced under the trademarks of Amstor supermarket chain, in particular, food trademarks Dobra Vygoda, Délicatesse, Bazhana Marka and ESTO (a trademark of the non-food group).

‘Entry into the market of the Ukrainian capital Kiev is the key step in the development of our retail business. In February 2013, Amstor plans to open one more shopping centre of similar format in Kiev. In the mid-term, we will be expanding our presence in other regions of Ukraine. Our new supermarket stores will be opened in Lvov and Dnepropetrovsk,’ said the CEO of Smart-Holding, Alexey Pertin.
