Supervisory Board of Okean Shipyard in Nikolaev Appoints Vasiliy Fedin as the Company’s President

Kiev, 6 February – The Supervisory Board of Okean Shipyard (Nikolaev City) has appointed Vasiliy Fedin as the company’s President.

The company’s management body approved the respective decision on 4 February. On the same day, the Supervisory Board accepted Vladimir Mikhailyuk’s resignation from the President’s office by mutual agreement of the parties.

The priority task set to the new top manager by the Supervisory Board of Okean Shipyard is extension of the order portfolio to ensure loss-free operation of the company and fulfilment of social commitments to its employees.

‘Today, our company, as the shipbuilding industry in general, is in a challenging situation. Our top priority is to secure new orders for the shipyard and to show our customers that we can produce competitive products. Growth in production means timely payment of salaries to our shipwrights and availability of funds required for Okean’s long-term development,’ said Vasiliy Fedin commenting on his appointment.

Previously, Vasiliy Fedin was in charge of Okean Shipyard from November 2011 to June 2012. He will retain his position of General Director at Kherson Shipyard that is part of Smart Maritime Group, the shipbuilding sub-holding company of Smart-Holding.
