Balaklava Mine Group’s 2012 Marketable Output Amounted to 2.82 Million Tonnes

In 2012, Balaklava Mine Group curtailed its actual marketable output by 5% or 143,000 tonnes, down to 2.82 million tonnes, against the plan. That said, the sales of products amounted to 2.74 million tonnes. Over the same period, the company moved more than 950,000 tonnes of rock in preparing the area for the Balaklava Green project.

In 2012, the company carried on implementation of its plan made jointly with Smart-Nerudprom Company for development of the Balaklava Mine Group and its conversion from mining and processing business into a recreational area. Thus, in 2012 the company moved more than 950,000 tonnes of rock. In total, more than 2 million tonnes of rock were moved in 2011 and 2012 in preparing the area for the Balaklava Green project.

‘Despite the complicated situation in the industry in 2012, the Balaklava Mine Group continues optimization and improvement process for efficient market product manufacture as part of its core production performance. Besides, successful work goes on for the long-term development of the enterprise as a recreational center,’ said Valeriy Nemchenko, Chairman of the Management Board of the Balaklava Mine Group commenting on the results of 2012.

In December 2012, the Sevastopol City Council approved the city spatial planning documents of the Balaklava District and Gasfort Mountain area providing for creation of the national multifunctional year-round resort Balaklava Green in the territory of the Balaklava Mine Group.
