ChSY is Ready to Participate in Modernization of the Russian Fleet

Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation have paid a business visit to Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard (Nikolaev City) to learn about the production capacity of the company.

The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Aleksey Rakhmanov, and Deputy Director of the Department of Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Equipment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Andrey Kurasov, represented the Russian delegation.

During the visit, the guests examined the flow-based and positional production line of the company, familiarized themselves with building berths, inclined staples and floating dock of the shipyard. In addition, the Russian party was informed about the progress in fulfillment of the current shipbuilding and repair projects by the Company.

At the business meeting following the visit, the representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation emphasized high level of ChSY production potential. In his turn, the general director of the yard, Valeriy Kalashnikov, has reported that today the yard successfully performs the repair of the Ukrainian naval forces’ vessels and the company is ready to consider cooperation proposals for modernization of the Russian fleet.

Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard (Public Joint Stock Company) is a shipyard with the largest technical potential in Ukraine. The plant has two inclined staples (‘0’ and ‘1’) for construction of ships and vessels with displacement of up to 105,000 tonnes. Flow-line and positional production system is designed for a serial production of vessels with deadweight of up to 9,000 tonnes. Vessel production sites and construction flow lines are located in one covered building about 400 m long. ChSY is part of Smart Maritime Group shipbuilding holding company (Ukraine).

Smart Maritime Group (SMG) is Ukraine’s largest shipbuilding holding company. It was established in 2009 to manage the marine assets of Smart-Holding. SMG integrates two largest shipbuilding companies of Ukraine, Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard and Kherson Shipyard.
