19.04.2021

Vadym Novynskyi's International Charitable Foundation in Honour of the Intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God donated a lung ventilator and personal protective equipment for doctors to Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.

This was reported by Dmytro Sergeyev, the director of Vadym Novynskyi’s Foundation, who delivered the aid to the Institute on 19 April.

According to Vasyl Lazoryshynets, the director of Amosov National Institute, the Institute began to receive COVID-19 patients on 8 April 2021. The donated equipment and personal protective gear will help to cope with the organization of such treatment.

‘In the framework of a new project of cooperation with the Institute, Vadym Novynskyi's Foundation intends to provide all possible assistance in the treatment of COVID-19 patients, as well as patients with cardiovascular diseases who are hospitalized at Amosov National Institute. Today, the Foundation handed over to the Institute personal protective equipment for healthcare personnel – these are medical suits, protective shields and antiseptic agents. We also delivered a lung ventilator as a gift from the Foundation. We hope it will greatly help in the treatment of patients with coronavirus,’ said Dmytro Sergeyev.

As noted by Vasyl Lazoryshynets, the director of Amosov Institute, the assistance received from the Foundation is extremely relevant.

‘Today, the Institute has organized a 60-bed Covid treatment centre to receive patients with coronavirus. Vadym Novynskyi's Foundation donated a lung ventilator to the team of our Institute, as well as protective equipment for doctors. Such assistance is extremely important today. The ventilator is a most modern device with a built-in turbine. It does not require an additional compressor and will be used in the Covid centre from today. This is the first step of cooperation between our Institute and Vadym Novynskyi's Foundation, and there are great hopes that we will find common points to ensure that both cardiac surgery patients and Covid-19 patients are provided at the highest world level,’ said Vasyl Lazoryshynets.

Dmytro Sergeyev, the director of Vadym Novynskyi's Foundation, added that the Foundation would continue to provide its assistance to Amosov Institute in the near future.

‘Today, there is a pressing question on purchasing a mobile X-ray unit for the Institute, as well as on further supplies of personal protective equipment and antiseptics for doctors who work with COVID-19 patients. Vadym Novynskyi's Foundation will be providing all possible assistance to the Institute by all possible means,’ added Dmytro Sergeyev.

As previously reported, the volume of charitable assistance provided in 2020 by Vadym Novynskyi's Foundation and Smart-Holding’s businesses in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic amounted to over UAH 100 million. Twenty lung ventilators, over 100,000 units of personal protective equipment for doctors, 100,000 high-precision PCR tests were purchased for healthcare facilities of Ukraine. In addition, the Foundation also purchased more than 1 million protective masks for healthcare institutions, parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and industrial enterprises of Ukraine. In order to support the elderly people under quarantine in Kherson, Mykolayiv, Mariupol, as well as Kyiv city and Kyiv region, the Foundation organized targeted delivery of over 20,000 food packages.
