Here comes a light! After two months of enforced darkness, power supply has been restored in the Korabel district (Kherson) thanks to the efforts of the SMG team

After two months of no electricity due to massive shelling, residents of the Korabel microdistrict (Kherson city) finally have power. Problems with power supply arose after the massive shelling of Kherson on February 17. As a result of the damage, 3 thousand residents were left without electricity for an indefinite period.

Power supply was restored, including thanks to the efforts of SMG employees, who, despite all the difficulties of the war, shelling, and the long-term lack of income from the enterprise, were able to complete complex repair work.

Only after 2 months it became possible to restore power supply.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, SMG has already spent 13 million UAH of its own funds on the repair and maintenance of the energy infrastructure for the needs of the city.

Despite the complete cessation of the company's main shipbuilding activities, the company maintained substations and networks at its own expense all this time to ensure basic electricity supply to the population of the Korabelny district residential area.

“The enterprise in Kherson has not been operating since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. For the third year in a row, we have been providing electricity to the civil infrastructure and residents of the Korabel residential area, who are subscribers of Khersonoblenergo. It is the regional power company that receives the tariff for transporting electricity and should have participated in the maintenance and restoration of the substation after the shelling. But so far it has no such desire, so for the third year in a row it is our social responsibility to maintain and restore it with our own resources. We are grateful to all the employees who made it possible to restore electricity supply in such difficult conditions,” said Krasnikov Dmytro, CEO of Smart Maritime Group

Smart Maritime Group (SMG) unites the two largest shipyards of Ukraine - Kherson and Mykolaiv. After the liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region, the company joined in the restoration of living conditions: they helped the State Emergency Service eliminate the consequences of the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, restore power supply in Kherson, and supply products to residents of the affected areas. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the company has allocated more than 20 million UAH to humanitarian projects in Kherson. To date, the Kherson shipyard is damaged and stopped.
