"Balaklava Green project will become a resort of national level and give not only the powerful impulse of tourist development in Sevastopol but also will greatly enhance the tourist potential of Ukraine in general", - stated the director of real estate projects of Smart Holding Sergey Ovcinikov at the International Investment Forum held in September 16-17 in Sevastopol.

On 22 July 2011, three representatives of Smart-Holding were re-elected to the Board of Directors of the British oil and gas company Regal Petroleum plc. at its annual meeting of shareholders.

The CEO of Smart-Holding and the chairman of the strategic committee of Metinvest Group, Alexey Pertin, participated in the official opening ceremony of the new coking coal mine of United Coal Company that is part of Metinvest Group. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Acting Governor of West Virginia, Earl Ray Tomblin, and the mayor of Sophia, Danny Barr.

The Metinvest Group has completed the consolidation of its assets with Ilyich Steel Plant. As a result, Ilyich Steel Plant joined the Metinvest Group, and Clarendale Limited, with Vladimir Boyko being the main beneficiary, became the group's shareholder.

The HarvEast group has been established as an umbrella body for the agricultural assets owned by Ilyich Steel Plant. Its shareholders will be the SCM and Smart Holding Groups. The same-name managing company HarvEast Holding has been established to manage the strategy and operations of the group.

Alexey Timofeyev, First Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Corporate Development and Asset of JSC Smart Holding UA, appointed to the Board of Regal Petroleum plc. Mr. Timofeyev will also be appointed CEO of Regal Petroleum plc after obtaining a British work permit.

Smart-Holding presents a project of building a recreational resort Balaklava Green (Sevastopol, Crimea) at the largest international real estate exhibition MIPIM-2011 (Cannes, France), which will be held on 8-11 March 2011.
