Metinvest and Smart Maritime Group (SMG) have reached an agreement to set up a service center based on SMG's shipyards in Kherson and Nikolayev in line with the strategy of downstream development of services in the processing of rolled steel products.

Smart Maritime Group, which combines two shipbuilding yards in Nikolaev and Kherson regions, claims a raider seizure of its assets using unlawful decisions in the framework of a criminal case fabricated by the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine is being prepared. 

In 2016, Smart Maritime Group (SMG, Kherson) increased its marketable product sales revenue by 49% compared with 2015 – up to UAH 395 million.

Kherson Shipyard, part of the shipbuilding company Smart Maritime Group (SMG, Kherson), has floated out an oil garbage disposal vessel SEA ANT of НМ 440 design built by order of Yuzhnenskiy subsidiary of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (state enterprise in Yuzhny town, Odessa region).

Shareholders of Kherson Shipyard made changes to the membership of the company's supervisory board.

The shareholders of Chernomorsky Shipyard approved the company's 2015 financial performance report.

Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard (ChSY) commenced the implementation of a new contract by request of Dunaysudremont. The company will make undercoating, rolling, cutting and bending of metal totalling 100 tonnes. Further on, this metal will be used in the upgrade of Dmitriy Donskoy motor ship in Izmail.

In the first quarter of the current year, Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard overhauled and handed over to the customer three river-sea ships: CHELSEA-5, FURY and ROSCHEM-2. Overall, 133 tonnes of the ships’ metal were replaced, which is 13 times as much as in the same period of 2015. In addition to that, the enterprise produced some machine-building products and carried out cargo transhipment.

The management of Smart Maritime Group and Windcraft-Ukraine held negotiations about a placement of an order for manufacture of wind turbine components at Kherson Shipyard in 2016.
